What Happens (by me):
Everyone thinks they know who Evelyn Hugo is.
She's the most notorious sex symbol in Hollywood history who somehow also managed to marry seven men throughout her life. But what everyone is dying to know is this: which husband did Evelyn love most?
So when Monique is told she's been chosen to interview Hugo, it seems that there could be no better career opportunity imaginable for the young journalist. Little does Monique know how much this will change her own life.

THANKFULLY this novel lived up to all the hype on bookstagram!
For some reason I thought it would either be a polygamy romance (not that I have anything against that - cue the impeccable 'Curse of the Gods' series) or some kind of murder mystery, like 'The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle'. It wasn't, and don't I love to be surprised!
I can't gush too much without ruining the twists for you all, but Jenkins Reid created some of the most three dimensional characters I have ever encountered. They are all extremely flawed but beautifully depicted, and their interactions brought me to tears.
You have to get about halfway through for the pace to pick up, but it's definitely worth it.
And as my closing note, I've never before read a book where they realistically portray celebrity life (Zimmer's 'The Gravity Between Us' scarred me mildly in this regard), but Jenkins Rein does it like a natural here.
What. A. Novel.
